Paintings, 2001 to present
The paintings change very slowly. New things are tried out, old things return and leave and return. There are differences between them, only so many chords, but endless possibilities, variations. The pursuit of a perfectly processed nonchalant movement of the brush, stuck between a wall, shape. The work has always been full of contradiction, the impulse to create something aesthetic, the impulse to destroy it resulting in the aesthetic of the destroyed bit, the impulse to find a balance/discord of form and colour between the two.
